Wedding gowns of the Victorian an Edwardian periods were very rich and elegant and the bride's choice was often a lustrous, heavy satin. They echoed the prevailing fashion and generally were adorned with family lace and featured a very long and impressive train - symbolic of the bride's dignity.
Costume is made of ivory satin trimmed in antique lace, braid and ribbon. Pleated chiffon finishes the sleeves and neckline. A balayeuese of pleated lace underlines the hem of the skirt. Gown is worn over combinations and taffeta petticoats. Ivory slippers.
